Serhiy Matviyiv, attorney, the managing partner of the «Matviyiv and Partners» attended the round table « Prestige of the legal profession in Ukraine: quo vadis?», which took place at the Sheptytsky Center on 15th February, 2018

The UBA Branch in Lviv Region and the Ukrainian Bar Association were the organizers of the event.

The round table was launched by the introductory speech of Ivan Horodskyy, Director of the UCU Law School  law projects.

Andrii Stelmashchuk, President of the Ukrainian Bar Association, shared  his thoughts on the issue of «Prestige of the Profession» by Skype connection.

Other participants also joined to the discussion:

Mikheieva Oksana, Ph.D. Historical Sciences, Head of the UCU Sociology Program;

Andrii Hrynchuk, attorney, Managing Partner of the Law Firm «Hrynchuk & Partners», Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Lviv;

Dmytro Gadomsky, attorney, CEO Axon Partners.

Is the profession of the lawyer objectively one of the most important? Is this a craft or a vocation? How does a society treat lawyers:with trust or cautiously? Why do mistakes of lawyers cause severe criticism?

Answers to all these questions participants tried to find in the discussion of such an actual topic nowadays.
